On Monday, January 8, 2024, Pere Calafell nursery school came into use after a year and a half of construction. It is located in the Barri de Sant Martí Provençals, Barcelona.

The Municipal Institute of Education (IMEB) promoted the transformation works of part of the old Pere Calafell school, at Carrer Andrade 184 in Barcelona, to house a Municipal Nursery School and a Family Space. There’s a part of the Building that has seen no works yet and it will become a Music School.

CAAS Arquitectura has developed the Project and GRV-MVAPM UTE Architecture team has managed the Direction of the works. AT3 has managed the Execution of the works and has monitored the quality control.

The building has been extended by one floor to accommodate the new equipment, occupying part of the ground floor and part of the first floor. The added floor is moved towards the center of the courtyard to leave more distance from the neighboring buildings, creating a porch that serves as a play area for children.
