The rehabilitation works of the historic Ciutat de Repòs i Vacances to transform it into a youth hostel have already reached approximately 21% completion. After finishing the demolition phase and beginning the new structure of the main building, the works are progressing according to the schedule set by the Generalitat, with the aim of completing the renovation and opening the facility in 2027.

The Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia), through the management of Infraestructures.cat, is the developer of the works. The renovation project and site management are led by Ensenyat- Tarrida Arquitectes, while the AT3 team is responsible for carrying out the construction execution management.

The hostel construction works of involves a total investment of €12 million, financed through Next Generation European funds, and will turn the site into the largest hostel in the XANASCAT network, with an initial capacity of 204 beds. The works include the rehabilitation of the main building, the renovation of the pavilions, new installations, and improvements to the outdoor spaces across an area of 45,000 m², bringing an end to more than a decade of abandonment of the complex.
